Overview

The COM-1808SOFT is a digital modem fully compliant with the DVB-S2 standard. The generic VHDL source code is portable to most FPGAs.
Separate licenses can be purchased for the transmitter (tx) and the receiver (rx).

• Tx key features:
• DDR output for very high DAC sampling rate
• Symbol rate up to 0.5*FPGA synchronous clock
• Tx flexible programmable features:
• input streams attributes (dynamic: can change every BBFRAME): 16200/64800b frame length, FEC encoding rate, modulation type
• input streams attributes: stream type (transport stream, generic stream packetized, generic bit stream), user packet length, input stream synchronization, null packet detection
• modulation attributes: symbol rate, frequency offset, SRRC filter roll-off, common to all input streams.
• Tx ancillary features
• PRBS11 test sequence generator and AWGN noise generator
• Rx flexible programmable features:
• Modulation symbol rate, frequency offset, SRRC filter roll-off.
• Output type: BBFRAME or stream (transport stream, generic stream packetized, generic bit stream)
• Symbol rate acquisition and tracking: +/- 50 ppm
• Rx ancillary features
• GNU radio project and Matlab conversion .m program for generating DVB-S2 waveforms
• End-to-end testbench
